WRITERS NEEDED FOR A NEW WEBSITE ON LAW AND MEDICINE (NOT LAUNCHED YET)

We are a newly formed company designed to promote education in the law and medicine,

We are looking for gifted writers to produce articles that will get people interested in law or medical science.

However, we should like to encourage discussion across these disciplines, and we are therefore seeking writers who are able to translate difficult concepts in research in the law and medicine to articles suitable for a lay audience.

We hope to launch in 2 weeks.

Writers should be available to write an article roughly every 3 weeks.

As a second part of the website is to provide specialist educational materials in the postgraduate medical and law examinations for revision, it would help enormously if applicants hold the MRCP or GDL diploma in medicine or law respectively; or if they hold a primary law degree.

No previous experience required, although evidence of interest or skills would be an advantage.

Pay negotiable according to the background and experience of the applicant.

Examples of possible articles include at present:

What determines the level of damages in English defamation law?
Does David Cameron's proposals for a Sovereignty Bill require repeal of the European Communities Act?
Should the BBC have the right to censor Nick Griffin?

You will see obviously from these examples that it is crucial that nothing is posted which is of an offensive (particularly libellous) nature.

Also, we are particularly looking for writers to produce articles of interest in medical science.

Because of the aim of the website, any writers with an interest in medical law are particularly welcome to apply.

The website will not be able to discuss any particular cases of medicine or law, nor anything which is not already in the public domain.

Please write in confidence to the e-mail below as soon as possible if you are interested.

We hope to appoint a small team of regular writers soon. Writers should be based in London, and familiar with the English law whatever their background.

This would be a great job for somebody wishing to start out in legal or medical journalism, and who wish to enhance their CV.
